Note:  On Sundays, the only door accessing the gyms is the HULL STREET entrance

From Route 128 (95 North) , traveling north (ie from the south of Newton):

 take exit 21, for Route 16 East.........after  about .8 miles, at a traffic light, turn right

onto Route 30 = Commonwealth Avenue - the landmark is an old brick fire station on

the right......follow Commonwealth Avenue for about 1.5 miles, and turn left onto

Walnut Street.   This left turn is just after passing Newton City Hall on the right - it looks

like an old city hall!......after just about .3 miles, turn left onto Hull Street. Go up the hill

and down the hill and you will be there; enter under the "Home of the Tigers " sign.  The

only school entrance open on Sunday is the one on Hull Street

From Route 128 (95 south), traveling south (ie from the north of Newton):

 ?         Take the Route 16 exit off of Route 128 = Exit 22-21B  This exit is 1.1 miles past

     the intersection of the Mass Turnpike  and Route 128…………………

      Stay straight on the ramp until the end (do not take the right curve onto Grove

     Street!) and, at the end of the ramp, 

?         Turn left onto Route 16........ [Go towards Newton, not Wellesley]

?         Follow Route 16 until its intersection with Commonwealth Avenue = Route 30. There is a traffic light; there is an old brick firehouse on the right; Commonwealth Ave. is distinguished by its wideness and park/grass strips between the lanes

     Turn right onto Commonwealth Avenue (= Route 30), and follow for more than 1 mile. 

?         At The 3rd light, turn left onto Walnut Street.  This intersection is just past Newton City Hall, which looks just like a small town city hall, and is on the right.

?         Follow Walnut Street for about 1/2 mile, and turn left onto HULL Street.  [If you 

     go a bit too far, you will see the school's athletic fields on the left, in which case, :

     turn around, and go back and turn right onto Hull Street.]………….     

?         Newton North HS is at the other end of Hull Street:

?         Enter the door on Hull Street, the others will be locked.

From the Mass Turnpike, (from the west of Newton, travelling east):

Exit from the Masspike at the “Weston tolls" at the intersection with Route 128 (95),   BUT DO NOT EXIT ONTO ROUTE 128.........follow signs for Route 30 East, they are somewhat difficult to find..........nevertheless, follow them.  Once on Route 30 east   (=Commonwealth Avenue) travel approximately (!) 2.8 miles and turn left onto Walnut Street.   This left turn is just after passing Newton City Hall on the right - it looks like an old city hall!......after just about .3 miles, turn left onto Hull Street. Go up the hill and down the hill and you will be there; enter under the "Home of the Tigers " sign.  The only school entrance open on Sunday is the one on Hull Street.

From the Mass Turnpike (from the east of Newton, travelling west):

?         Take Exit 17, the first Newton exit, and travel straight off the ramp, which is Washington Street.

?         Follow Washington Street  for about 1.1 miles, and at a traffic light, turn LEFT onto Walnut Street.  There is a Dunkin Donuts on the right at this light.

?         Follow Walnut St for about ½ mile, and after passing the sports fields on the right,  turn right onto HULL Street

?         Entrance to Newton North HS is at other end of Hull Street

?         Note: only this entrance to the school will get you to the gyms on Sunday
